Gordon Reid and Alfie Hewett have reached the final of the Australian Open men's wheelchair doubles.

The British top seeds defeated Dutchman Tom Egberink and Australian Ben Weekes 7-5 6-2 at Melbourne Park.

Meanwhile, Briton Lucy Shuker and Japanese partner Yui Kamiji reached the women's wheelchair doubles final.

Britain's Andy Lapthorne, along with American David Wagner, have reached the final of the quad wheelchair doubles tournament.

They will take on the all-Dutch pairing of Sam Schroder and Niels Vink after beating the duo of Donald Ramphadi of South Africa and Japan's Koji Sugeno 6-3 4-6 10-6.

Lapthorne and Wagner are aiming for their fourth title in Melbourne and Lapthorne said: "It's going to be a good match.

"They're a tough pair, they can be difficult to beat, but we'll go in there with confidence and hopefully we can pull it off."

Second seeds Shuker and Kamiji beat Dutchwoman Jiske Griffioen and China's Zhenzhen Zhu 6-2 6-3.

It will be 41-year-old Shuker's ninth Grand Slam doubles final and she is seeking her first title.

"It's great playing with Yui," said Shuker. "She moves incredibly well and strikes the ball really well, both in singles and doubles, so to have her on my side of the court, it's great.

"For the final we're going to need less mistakes, more consistency and a bit more pressure from us."

Reid and Hewett became the first all-British pairing to complete the Grand Slam in 2021 with their US Open victory in September.

They will aim to win their eighth successive Slam title together and 13th overall when they play Argentine Gustavo Fernandez and Japan's Shingo Kunieda in the final.

Their final opponents won 6-3 6-2 against second seeds Joachim Gerard and Stephane Houdet.

"We struggled at the start, but we finished the first set pretty strongly and then played the big points well in the second set," said Reid.

Hewett added: "We just needed to make more balls in court. It's as simple as that. We made a few too many unforced errors in the first couple of games so were just trying to keep the ball in play and be smart with our placement."

Hewett is also into the semi-finals of the men's wheelchair singles event, but Reid lost his match on Sunday.
