Cambridge United's young full-back Jonathon Thorpe has signed a two-year deal at the club.
The 18-year-old has played five first-team games this season, three of them off the bench.
The academy product was sent off in his second Cambridge appearance, a 4-0 defeat by Bath City in January, for two bookable offences.
"We look forward to his continued development," caretaker manager Jez George told the club website.
"We see JT as a right-back whose pace and attacking qualities make him a really exciting prospect."
Thorpe added: "I will continue to work hard so I keep improving and hopefully get into the first team as soon as possible."
