Veteran forward Richard Walker is one of five players released by Burton Albion, but left-back Paul Boertien has been offered an appearance-based deal.
Walker, 33, signed from Bristol Rovers in 2009 but has failed to hold down a regular place, while former Derby defender Boertien, 32, made just 17 appearances this term through injury.
Richard Jackson, Keith Gilroy, Lewis Young and Garyn Preen also depart.
But defender Andy Corbett has signed a two-year contract extension.
The 28-year-old has held down the right-back spot in the closing months of the season.
Jack Dyer, Tony James, John McGrath, Jacques Maghoma, Russell Penn and Jimmy Phillips have also been offered new deals.
And second-year scholar Bradley Munn has signed a six-month professional deal, having made the first-team bench against Macclesfield in March.
Keeper Adam Legzdins, the Brewers' player of the season who has a year to run on his current contract, has been offered a new deal at the club.
