Championship side Middlesbrough have signed striker Curtis Main, following his release by Darlington.
The 18-year-old, who was previously linked with a move to Fulham, external, has signed a one-year deal with an option for a further year.
"I saw enough of him in a couple of days' training to know that he's got potential," boss Tony Mowbray said.
"If I compare him to other lads at a similar age level to him who we already have here, he looks physically ready."
Mowbray added: "He's a powerful lad and what we will try to do is mould him into a first-team player over the next couple of years."
Main scored five goals in 22 starts for the Quakers, making 66 appearances in total.
