New deal for Wycombe Wanderers' Dave Winfield

Winfield helped Wycombe keep 17 clean sheets this season

Wycombe Wanderers defender Dave Winfield has signed a new two-year contract, keeping him at Adams Park until 2013.

The 23-year-old had another 12 months to run on his current deal but has been rewarded for his performances this season.

Winfield has made 40 appearances since arriving from Aldershot, external last summer.

"We're delighted that Dave has committed himself to the club," boss Gary Waddock told the club website., external

"He's an important part of our group - a leader, a winner and one we can develop even further."

Winfield added: "I've enjoyed my football this season more than any other time in my career and I feel privileged to be given a further opportunity to kick on."
