Dallas, Owens and Carson get first N Ireland call-up

Northern Ireland boss Nigel Worthington has brought three new faces into his squad for next week's Nations Cup games with the Republic of Ireland and Wales.

Crusaders pair Stuart Dallas and Jordan Owens get a first senior call-up along with Ipswich Town teenager Josh Carson.

Irish League players Alan Blayney, Robert Garrett and Colin Coates are also included in a youthful 20-man squad.

N Ireland's record scorer David Healy has been left out by Worthington.

The Rangers striker missed out for the friendly against Morocco in November but returned for the Nations Cup defeat by Scotland in February.

Healy was suspended for the Euro 2012 qualifier against Slovenia in March.

Carson has made an impact at Ipswich since breaking into the first team in March, with the 17-year-old winger scoring three times.

Dallas has enjoyed a superb first season with Crusaders and the winger was named Carling Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year last week.

His team-mate Owens is promoted to the seniors after playing for Northern Ireland at U21 level and at the Milk Cup.

Northern Ireland will be without most of their key players for the double header at the Aviva Stadium.

Aaron Hughes, Maik Taylor, Chris Brunt, Stephen Craigan and Pat McCourt are among the players rested for the two games.

Northern Ireland squad: Jonathan Tuffey (Inverness Caledonian Thistle), Alan Blayney (Linfield), Lee Hodson (Watford), Adam Thompson (Watford), Gareth McAuley (Ipswich Town), Ryan McGivern (Manchester City), Colin Coates (Crusaders), Craig Cathcart (Blackpool), Niall McGinn (Celtic), Sammy Clingan (Coventry City), Oliver Norwood (Manchester United), John Gorman (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Josh Carson (Ipswich Town), Steven Davis (Rangers), Robert Garrett (Linfield), Stuart Dallas (Crusaders), Warren Feeney (Oldham Athletic), Josh McQuoid (Millwall), Liam Boyce (Werder Bremen), Jordan Owens (Crusaders)
