Steve Morison hopes to go from non-league football to the Premier League

Millwall top-scorer Steve Morison has spoken of his Premier League ambitions after being the subject of "a couple of bids" from newly promoted Norwich City.

The Wales striker submitted a written transfer request to Championship side Millwall after the offers from the Canaries but it was rejected.

"Norwich have made a couple of bids that have been turned down so I've done what I've done," Morison said.

"I want to play in the Premier League, I might not get another opportunity."

Since signing from non-league Stevenage in July 2009, Morison has scored 40 goals in two seasons at Millwall, but the Lions narrowly missed out on a Championship play-off place this year, finishing ninth.

The 27-year-old, who won his seventh Welsh cap in their 2-0 Carling Nations Cup win over Northern Ireland on Friday, has two years to run on his Millwall contract after signing a new deal at The Den in February.

But Norwich have moved for Morison as Canaries boss Paul Lambert wants to strengthen his striking options ahead of their return to the Premier League.

And Morison's plea for a Premier League chance is after Norwich signed striker James Vaughan from Everton on a three-year deal.

"The Premier League is where everyone wants to play and I want to try to take it if they [Millwall] let me," said Morison.

"I have put in a transfer request and we'll see what happens, it is out of my hands now."
