Transfer-listed Lee would like Peterborough United stay

Transfer-listed utility player Charlie Lee says he does not want to leave newly promoted Peterborough United.

The 24-year-old has been made available for transfer despite being a virtual ever-present in the side since the return of Darren Ferguson as manager.

Lee told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "I've had four great seasons and I'm going to sorely miss it.

"But if now is the right time to leave then hopefully I can go onto even better things."

Lee has been transfer listed along with eight other players, including James Wesolowski who started Sunday's play-off final win over Huddersfield at Old Trafford.

The former Tottenham man was signed by Ferguson during his first spell at London Road and he says there will be no hard feelings about being made available for transfer.

"I owe a lot to the manager and the chairman and there's certainly no bitterness as I've only got here with their help," he said.

Lee fell out of favour under Gary Johnson and spent time on loan with Gillingham earlier in the season.

He forced his way back into the starting XI under Ferguson and is hopeful he may still have a future with Posh.

"I'm getting married on Sunday so my mind has been occupied. I won't be doing anything until after the honeymoon," he said.

"If I'm still here come pre-season, trust me I'll give everything I can, and you never know I could change a few opinions at the club."
