Hayes and Yeading appoint Nas Bashir as manager

Bashir is in his first managerial role

Hayes and Yeading have appointed former Reading player and coach Nas Bashir as their new manager.

Bashir, 41, replaces Garry Haylock, who left the club by mutual consent at the end of May having led them to 16th in Blue Square Bet Premier last season.

As well as his stint with the Royals, Bashir has also coached at Wycombe and England Under-21s and U-19s.

He will be assisted by Tristan Lewis, who has worked at the Wycombe and Reading academies.

Bashir said: "It's a great chance for me to build upon my reputation and be part of developing a club."

A statement on the club website read:, external "As one of the brightest young coaches in the national game, the club hope Bashir's appointment sends out a message of intention to the football world that Hayes and Yeading United Football Club continue to build and work towards their goal of becoming a Football League club."
