Gregory made 48 appearances for AFC Wimbledon last season

Bournemouth have completed the signing of AFC Wimbledon midfielder Steven Gregory on a two-year deal.

The 23-year-old, who joined the Dons in 2009, helped the club win promotion to the Football League, external for the first time in their history in May.

He told the Cherries' website:, external "I have just had a great season at Wimbledon and everyone was fantastic to me there.

"But they know that opportunities like this don't come often and no one stood in my way, so it was an easy decision."

Gregory came through the youth ranks at Wycombe Wanderers and made his League debut in May 2006 before he went on to play for Havant & Waterlooville and Hayes & Yeading.

"This is a big challenge and one that I'm really excited about. I want to prove that I can do it at this level to everyone involved," he added.

"This is a different level. You drive into the car park and you feel like you are at a big club and when you look at the facilities here, I just can't wait to get started.

"This club have proved last season that they can challenge in this division, and that is part of the attraction.

"You look at the fixture list and there are some massive teams there, but I think this team is just as good and I can't wait to be involved in what could be a very successful season."
