Nigeria striker Brown Ideye has been signed by Dynamo Kiev on a five-year deal
Ukrainian side Dynamo Kiev have signed striker Brown Ideye from French club Sochaux on a five-year deal.
The 22-year-old Nigerian international passed a medical on Wednesday before completing the deal for an undisclosed fee.
He is the second Nigerian recruited by Dynamo Kiev after Lukman Haruna arrived last month from French club Monaco.
Ideye told BBC Sport that it was a move he had looked forward to.
"It's an easy decision to make since I know about the club from European competitions already, so it wasn't difficult to make up my mind.''
Confirmation of his transfer comes a day after Dynamo won the Ukrainian Super Cup by beating big rivals Shaktar Donetsk 3-1.
"I saw the Super Cup game with Yusuf [Ayila] and Lukman [Haruna] playing, these are people I know already from the national team.
"I feel good knowing I have friends here and with the other players, it promises to be an exciting time for me at this club."
A former youth international, Ideye first moved to Europe after the 2007 Fifa World Youth Championship in Canada.
He joined Swiss side Neuchâtel Xamax in January 2008, where he scored 23 goals in 55 appearances.
Ideye's form caught the attention of Sochaux and they snapped him up in January 2010.
His brilliant return of 17-goals in 52 appearances, including a remarkable 15-goals last season, was just good enough for Dynamo Kiev to swoop on the promising Super Eagle.
"The club made their intention known to to Sochaux and once everything was agreed it was my decision to opt for Dynamo Kiev over others," added Ideye.
"In football challenges comes with a new club and I think this is a big one for me now.''
"I have to work hard, get into the team and then convince the coach that I am good enough to start regularly.
"I have huge ambitions and playing and scoring regularly should help me achieve them."
He was part of the Super Eagles squad at last year's World Cup in South Africa but did not get to play a part in all the group matches for Nigeria.
The player will play alongside compatriots Yusuf Ayila, Lukman Haruna and Frank Temile at Dynamo Kiev.
