Norwich City boss Paul Lambert keen on loan talent

Norwich boss Paul Lambert has hinted more youngsters may arrive on loan this season, following the acquisition of Manchester United's Ritchie de Laet.

Lambert found success with the system last term, recruiting Dani Pacheco, external from Arsenal and Liverpool respectively.

He told BBC Radio Norfolk, external: "It worked brilliantly for us last year with Henri and Dani and Fraser Forster, external before.

"The system has definitely worked for us, it's not something I'd dismiss."

The Canaries manager went on to say some of Norwich's own youngsters could be offered experience away from the club.

Winger Luke Daley is having a attracting interest from Oldham, external and Peterborough.

"If you're a young player, you have to play," said the Scot.

"I wouldn't like to see a young player just sit around with their own careers at stake, I'm not one for curtailing a young player's career.

"There will be one or two young ones who will go out the door and there will be one or two who I won't let out."

Meanwhile, Lambert's squad has been boosted by Leon Barnett's full recovery from injury.

The defender missed the final three months of last season after damaging his hamstring in February, external.

"He's totally fine, he's doing great at the minute," Lambert explained.

"He's raring to go, he's worked really hard to get over that injury and the last few days he's been right on it.

"It was a big loss losing him when we did, he's totally fine now and allied with Ritchie we've got four top centre-halves."
