Oxford United swoop for versatile Liam Davis

Oxford United have signed former Northampton defender-midfielder Liam Davis on a one-year deal.
The 24-year-old, who was released by the Cobblers this summer, impressed U's boss Chris Wilder during a trial.
He started his career at Coventry, and had a loan spell at Peterborough before joining Northampton in 2008.
U's boss Chris Wilder told BBC Oxford:, external "We feel he possibly hasn't lived up to his potential so far so hopefully we can get it out of him."
Davis, who becomes United's ninth summer signing, played 91 times for the Cobblers and was linked to Sheffield Wednesday and Colchester in November., external
Wilder continued: "We were looking to put the finishing touches to the squad. One thing we felt was missing was some pace wide left, a natural left-footer.
"He's a pacy boy who likes to get forward, similar to Damian [Batt] on the other side."
