Burton Albion have signed former Crewe Alexandra left-back Danny Blanchett on a one-year deal.

The 23-year-old was released by the Alex this summer after one season, in which he made 44 appearances.

He joined them last year from Peterborough and has had loan spells at Hereford and AFC Wimbledon.

Blanchett becomes the Brewers' fourth signing in three days, following keeper Ross Atkins, defender Tom Parkes and striker Justin Richards to the club.
