Torquay United have signed Swindon Town and Wales Under-21 striker Billy Bodin on loan until 8 January.

The 19-year-old started in the opening three League Two games of the season for the Robins but has yet to score a senior goal for the club.

The forward is the son of former Wales international Paul Bodin, who is a close friend of Gulls boss Martin Ling.

"I obviously know his Dad very well and I have watched Billy for many years," said Ling.

"He is a precocious talent, who needs first-team action," he added.

Bodin asked for a loan move earlier this week, external and is the third striker Ling has brought to the club after signing Taiwo Atieno during the summer.

Ling also has the services of Northern Ireland Under-21 striker Billy Kee.

"He started Swindon's first three games of this season and I think that proves to everyone the quality he has and the talent he is," Ling continued.

"He has dropped down the pecking order because they have made some big-name signings down at Swindon and we can give him the platform to express that talent."
