Forest Green Rovers striker Reece Styche signs new deal

Forest Green Rovers striker Reece Styche has committed his future to the club by signing a new three-year deal.

The 22-year-old scored 16 goals last season and had one year left on his previous deal, but this new contract keeps him at New Lawn until 2014.

Last week, Luton Town made a bid for Styche, external but it was turned down by Rovers chairman Dale Vince.

Meanwhile, Vince has also confirmed that Forest Green have tabled an offer for Hatters striker Robbie Willmott.

The 21-year-old joined Luton for £50,000 from Cambridge United in January and went on to score six goals in 18 appearances last season.

"We're looking to strengthen an already exciting squad with one or two from other clubs - such as Luton's Robbie Willmott," Vince told the club website., external

Commenting on Styche's deal, manager Dave Hockaday added: "This brings closure to an irritating saga and sends out a message that Forest Green is a buying, not a selling club.

"Reece is fully committed and looking to help with our progression."
