Inverness Caledonian Thistle have recruited 19-year-old Aidan Chippendale on loan from Huddersfield Town.
The winger makes the move to the Scottish Premier League club, who have been hit by injury problems, until January.
He became Terry Butcher's second signing of the day after the capture of Wolves midfielder David Davis.
"Aidan has good pace, which is what we're short of in wider areas of midfield," said Butcher.
The Caley Thistle manager said he had to strengthen his side after injuries to wide men Johnny Hayes and Aaron Doran.
"I'm delighted with our deadline day work," said Butcher.
"Both lads have considerable potential and, with our exceptional injury list, their arrival brings us the competition for places we've been looking for.
"It is pleasing that Aidan is keen to come and we've been able to agree a deal with him and his club in quick time."
Chippendale has made only one senior appearance and was recalled by Huddersfield from York City last season because of his lack of first-team action while on loan.
The League One outfit have now allowed the player, who signed as a youth from Bradford City, to move north in search of competitive football.
