Tranmere have signed forward Jose Baxter on a month's loan from Premier League neighbours Everton.

The 19-year-old, who has made 14 first team appearances for the Blues, joins the ranks at Prenton Park to cover for the injured Andy Robinson.

"He's tailor-made for that role behind the striker," manager Les Parry told BBC Radio Merseyside, external.

"He sees a pass, can score and also he can put a foot in, as he can really put himself about."

Parry added: "He brings everything to us that we're looking for and he is the ideal person to bring in.

"We needed to fill that role and it's important to us. It's great that Everton have done that for us."

Baxter will go straight into the Tranmere squad for their game against Preston on Saturday.
