Peterborough 1-2 Doncaster

Doncaster's revival under new manager Dean Saunders continued as they came from behind to beat Peterborough.

Posh took the lead when Grant McCann unleashed an unstoppable shot from outside the area past Doncaster goalkeeper Neil Sullivan.

Rovers equalised against the run of play shortly after half-time through Brian Stock's 25-yard effort.

Kyle Bennett converted John Oster's cross to give Saunders seven points from his first three games in charge.

Posh made the brighter start and it was no surprise when McCann put them ahead.

Sullivan then had to tip a fiercely-struck free-kick from skipper McCann round the post just before the half-hour mark.

George Boyd missed the target from 12 yards before Sullivan produced another fine save to tip a shot from Emile Sinclair round the post.

It was much the same story at the start of the second half. Lee Frecklington shot over and then had a goalbound effort blocked by Shelton Martis before McCann sent an effort wide.

But Rovers looked rejuvenated by Stock's shock equaliser and Simon Gillett went close before Bennett finished Oster's left-wing cross from inside the six-yard box.

Posh kept pushing for an equaliser but it was not to be as substitute Ryan Tunnicliffe and Boyd were both denied by Sullivan late on.
