Left-back Charles Dunne has been awarded his first professional contract at Wycombe Wanderers.

The 18-year-old was first scouted playing football in the park and was snapped up by the Chairboys for their youth team.

"It's a privilege to sign for Wycombe," he told the club website., external

"I've watched the other young players and they've been role models for me, so hopefully I can also get my chance in the first-team in the future."

Dunne follows in the footsteps of Kadeem Harris, Jesse Kewley-Graham, Josh Scowen, Anthony Stewart and Matt McClure, all of whom have progressed from the under-18 squad into the first-team set up.

Boss Gary Waddock added: "Charles has worked extremely hard since he's been with the club and deserves the chance to turn professional.

"He gives us another option in defence and we'll be working closely with him to develop him even further and make sure he's ready for first-team football when the time comes."
