Bournemouth keeper Shwan Jalal has signed a new three-year contract with the League One strugglers.
Jalal was in the last year of his deal but is now tied to the club until 2014.
The 28-year-old has been restricted to just two appearances this season - both in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
"I think Shwan can be a Championship keeper and we want him to achieve that at this club and that is reflected in the length of the deal," said Bournemouth manager Lee Bradbury.
The former Tottenham trainee was linked with a move away from Dean Court in the last transfer window, although he always insisted he was happy to stay at the club., external
Baghdad-born Jalal, who has made over 140 appearances for the Dorset side, will now fight it out with Darryl Flahavan for a place in the Bournemouth side.
