Skiverton's side are without a win in five league games

Yeovil manager Terry Skiverton has urged supporters to show faith in the players after boos rang out in their 3-0 home defeat by Carlisle.

Assistant boss Nathan Jones, who was playing his 200th game for the club, was jeered by a section of Glovers fans as he was substituted on Saturday.

Skiverton told BBC Somerset: "People can't keep getting booed off without their being certain reasons why.

"We've got to stick together and get to where we want to get to."

He continued: "People are using other people as scapegoats when they haven't been the worst player on the pitch.

"It's not the type of club where I want that to happen. We had it last year when Gavin Tomlin was booed for taking a penalty.

"It seems it's happening to me and my football club at the moment so we have to stand up to that."

Saturday's result leaves Yeovil second from bottom in League One with just two wins all season.

And Skiverton says the fans need to replicate his belief if they are going to move up the table.

"We have to chalk that one off and start again," he added.

"I'm not going to get down about it, everyone says I'm over-positive but we keep fighting, we go on.

"I know that these players are going to come back and we are going to be a totally different team.

"We don't want to get adrift. We need to make sure we are fighting for our lives.

"People pay their money and are entitled to an opinion but we are a smaller club compared to a lot of the big guns in this league - we've got to stick together through thick and thin."
