Plymouth Argyle have signed 25-year-old Blackpool defender Paul Bignot on a three-month loan deal.

The right-back goes straight into Carl Fletcher's squad for the home game against Morecambe on Saturday.

He is the first player brought in by the club since they exited administration after James Brent's takeover, external last week.

Bignot joined Blackpool in the summer from non-league Newport County but has yet to make a first team appearance.

Bignot began his career at Crewe Alexandra, playing 21 games for the club, before joining Kidderminster Harriers.

He signed a two-year deal with Blackpool in the summer following a successful trial with former Argyle boss Ian Holloway's side.

Bignot has also been given permission by Blackpool to play in Argyle's FA Cup tie at home to Stourbridge next week.
