Coventry City have handed a contract extension to forward Gary McSheffrey.
The Championship club have not confirmed the length of the new deal for the 29-year-old, whose contract was set to expire next summer.
McSheffrey has made 46 appearances since June 2010, when he rejoined the club where he started his career.
"Gary, like me, is as committed to this club as those fans who support the team from the stands," Sky Blues boss Andy Thorn told the club website, external.
"He's one of them. And he loves Coventry City. He's got a big part to play this season and it would be great to see him getting back on the goal trail for us."
McSheffrey, who has scored just once this season, has hit 62 of his 94 career goals for home town club Coventry, for whom he has now made 210 appearances in total.
He hit 20 goals in 96 games in his four seasons with Birmingham City and has also spent time out on loan with Stockport County, Luton Town, Nottingham Forest and Leeds United.
