Oxford United sign Australian striker Matthew Fletcher

Fletcher played in this year's Under-20 World Cup for Australia

Oxford United have signed Australia Under-20 striker Matthew Fletcher on a short-term deal.

The 19-year-old was previously on the books of Premier League side Sunderland but left the club in July.

He told the club website: "I can't wait to start and hopefully make a good impression on the manager."

U's boss Chris Wilder added: "Matt is a player with bags of potential and a great pedigree. This is a great opportunity for him."
