Bury's Peter Sweeney signs a contract extension

Sweeny's new contract keeps him at Gigg Lane until 2014

Bury midfielder Peter Sweeney has signed a two-year contact extension with the Shakers.

The extension to his deal keeps Sweeney at Gigg Lane until the end of the 2013-14 season.

The 26-year-old joined Bury in 2010 after being released by Grimsby Town and helped the side gain promotion to League One last term.

This season, Sweeney has played in all but one game and scored against Yeovil and Walsall.
