Swindon Town striker Elliot Benyon will join Southend United for an undisclosed fee on 1 January.

The 24-year-old will sign an 18-month deal at Roots Hall with the option for another year.

Benyon only joined the Robins in January from Torquay but scored just once in 12 appearances.

The former St Albans and Crawley forward has spent this season on loan at League One side Wycombe and netted once in 13 games.
