St Johnstone manager Steve Lomas hailed debutant Lee Croft after the on-loan winger paved the way for Saints' win.
The Derby player hit the opener as the Perth side came out on top in a five-goal thriller at Hibs to move up to fourth in the Scottish Premier League.
Lomas said: "There's more to come from Lee. He's a good player. He has got goals and assists in him."
But the manager warned: "The game should have been over and done with. We had enough chances to kill it off."
Lomas was upset that his team had to rely on a late winner from Francisco Sandaza, who collected a pass from the left and swivelled to squeeze a shot past Mark Brown, however he praised the fortitude of his players.
"Our boys have got character, they've got honesty. It's been a theme and they're a pleasure to be with, they are proper pros," said the Northern Irishman.
"Fran being Fran just showed what he's all about. It was a special goal.
"He's a special talent and when he puts in the effort and committment to his game he's a fantastic asset."
