Championship side Barnsley have signed Exeter City full-back Scott Golbourne for an undisclosed fee on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

The 23-year-old spent two and a half years at St James Park and signed a two-year deal in June 2010.

Golbourne, a former England youth international, joined Exeter from Reading in 2009 and has made 121 appearances for the Grecians.

His career began at Bristol City before moving to Reading in 2006.

He played just six matches in three seasons at Reading and spent much of that time on loan at Bournemouth, Wycombe and Oldham.
