Hibs have made a bid for Scunthorpe United midfielder Michael O'Connor.

Scunthorpe boss Alan Knill confirmed that the Edinburgh club had made an approach and followed up their interest with an offer for the 24-year-old.

"We've had an offer," said Knill. "I spoke to the Hibs boss Pat Fenlon late last week about a general enquiry.

"In the meantime, they've made an offer and the board is considering it. At the moment, he's our player until the end of the season."

O'Connor started his career with Crew Alexandria in 2005 before spending time on loan with Lincoln City.

He joined The Iron in 2008 and has been capped 10 times at international level for Northern Ireland.
