Mark Lawrenson's FA Cup predictions
- Published
BBC Sport football expert Mark Lawrenson is pitting his wits against a different guest pundit each week this season.
His opponent for this weekend's FA Cup fifth-round ties is former Wimbledon goalkeeper Dave Beasant, hero of the Dons' victory over Liverpool in the 1988 final, when he famously saved a John Aldridge penalty.
Beasant, who has been coaching at the Glenn Hoddle Academy in Spain, thinks Brighton - the club where he ended his career - will be edged out at Anfield.
Predictions | Score | Lawro | Dave Beasant |
---|---|---|---|
Chelsea v Birmingham | 1-1 | 2-0 | 2-0 |
Everton v Blackpool | 2-0 | 2-1 | 1-0 |
Millwall v Bolton | 0-2 | 1-1 | 1-1 |
Norwich v Leicester | 1-2 | 2-0 | 2-1 |
Sunderland v Arsenal | 2-0 | 1-1 | 2-1 |
Crawley v Stoke | 0-2 | 0-2 | 1-1 |
Stevenage v Tottenham | 0-0 | 0-2 | 0-2 |
Liverpool v Brighton | 6-1 | 2-0 | 2-1 |
A correct result is worth ONE point, while a correct score earns THREE points.
In the last round of Premier League fixtures, Lawro got four results right, with one perfect score, and his six points gave him a phenomenal win over Muppets duo Kermit and Miss Piggy who, perhaps unsurprisingly (seeing as they only made three predictions), ended up with zero.
