Stevenage manager Gary Smith believes his side can capitalise on Tottenham Hotspur's fixture congestion when the two sides replay their FA Cup tie.

Harry Redknapp's high-fliers were held to a 0-0 draw at the Lamex Stadium in Sunday's fifth-round tie.

Smith declared himself "overwhelmed" with his side's "terrific" performance and has high hopes for the replay.

"We've got every chance," he said. "We'll go there with a lot of energy and belief."

Tottenham have a busy few weeks coming up, with next Sunday's north London derby at Arsenal followed by the visit of Manchester United to White Hart Lane in a game that could prove pivotal in both sides' challenge for the Premier League title.

Between that game and a trip to Everton the following week, they must now schedule a replay with league one side Stevenage, whose manager hopes to make the most of Spurs' cluttered schedule.

"They've got a very tough schedule coming up," said Smith, appointed Stevenage boss 25 days ago as a replacement for Graham Westley, who joined Preston North End.

"They've got Arsenal and Manchester United, with us plugged in somewhere in the middle."

Stevenage's stalemate with Spurs was the closest Sunday's three games got to a Cup upset, with Stoke City easing to a win at Crawley Town and Liverpool outclassing Brighton at Anfield.

Smith was fulsome in his praise for the resilience of his team, who will - whatever the result at White Hart Lane - secure a substantial payday for the Hertfordshire club.

"When you are playing against a talented side you are going to have to absorb pressure," said Smith. "But I thought we defended magnificently.

"We had one or two half-chances we should have made a little bit more of - our dead ball situations are better than that. But, overall, the performance was outstanding. I'm overwhelmed. It's terrific."

The winners of the replay have been drawn at home to Bolton Wanderers in the quarter-finals.
