Gary Waddock shoulders Wycombe Wanderers strain

Wycombe Wanderers boss Gary Waddock has insisted he must take full responsibility for his side's slide to the bottom of League One.

Saturday's 2-0 loss at Walsall was the Chairboys' third in as many games.

"I feel the pressure all the time. I don't like losing football matches. I don't like being bottom of the table," Waddock told BBC Three Counties Radio.

"I take full responsibility for that. I've put this team together and it lays on my shoulders."

The Hertfordshire club have only won two of their last 10 outings and are five points adrift of 20th-placed Scunthorpe.

But Waddock believes his men have the right attitude to haul themselves to safety.

"They're a fantastic group of people," he said.

"They'll continue to work very hard for the football club and the fans home and away.

"It won't be for the want of trying. It's draining for them as well because things haven't gone their way recently."

The former QPR manager was without Matt Bloomfield for the trip to the West Midlands.

The midfielder had to be dropped off at a service station after suffering from sickness.

"We had to pull into a services because he was ill," explained Waddock.

"And we had to get him home. So we went with four on the bench and it summed the day up."
