Reading celebrate promotion

Reading sealed their return to the Premier League with victory over Nottingham Forest on Tuesday.

Mikele Leigertwood's late goal secured victory and saw Brian McDermott's side bounce back from last season's play-off final heartbreak to Swansea City.

Promotion means the club are around £90m richer and with Russian Anton Zingarevich's takeover close to being completed, Reading are on the verge of a new era.

BBC Radio Berkshire speaks to Reading's prospective new owner and the promotion heroes of 2011/12.

Anton Zingarevich: "I am very happy, of course. When you have moments like this you are always happy.

"We knew we would have a chance if we kept winning and then we did a couple of smart moves and we just won games and that's all it was. We just kept winning.

"Jason Roberts is an amazing player and he really stands out and Brian McDermott was smart to get him and he did a good job for us."

Simon Church: "It's unbelievable and what an honour. It's an honour to be part of this great squad. We all deserve it and it is a fantastic day for everyone at the club."

Shaun Cummings: "This is what about. This is what you come into football for. The fans have been brilliant, they've supported us and shown us support throughout the season and I'm just pleased we could do something for them.

"We forgot about the Wembley heartbreak a long time ago. We've just been focussed on this season and we deserve to go up."

Adam Federici: "It's great to see everyone so happy. We've all worked so hard this season and it's been a great year and to have the accomplishment at the end of the season is fantastic.

"The only way to top this season is to do one better and be even better and that is what we will strive to do. It's been a great year and to top it off like this is unbelievable."

Hal Robson Kanu: "The boys have been brilliant all season and it great to get our reward. It's a special day and we have a bond to last forever.

"It's an unbelievable experience. We've had this bond all season and we will keep going next year."

Ian Harte: "I'm absolutely delighted, We had to grind it out and the fans have been fantastic and it's an amazing night, this is something is special,. Now we have to try and win on Saturday and win the title."

Jason Roberts: "It's a little bit surreal really. I've enjoyed it and it is great to know we are going up but I want to win it now. I want to be Champions.

"Today is a special day. The whole team has done a great job, but because I'm 34 I'm definitely enjoying it more."

Jimmy Kebe: "I'm lost for words. We worked hard every game and it is a great day. I'm so pleased to be back in the Premier League."

Adam Le Fondre: "It's great and to get to the promised land the Premier League is fantastic. This is more than I dreamed of when I signed. This is all for the fans, they have been great and it is a magnificent feeling."

Mikele Leigertwood: "I can't believe it. What a fantastic achievement from all the staff, manager and players. You can't beat this."

Noel Hunt: "It's the best feeling I've ever had in my life. I've never had a better feeling. I thought last year was our best chance, but credit to the manager he has been amazing for us.

"Hal told us the final score from bench and I told the lads we just need one goal to go up and it was amazing when we scored."
