Steven Reid has signed a new two-year deal at West Bromwich Albion.

The 31-year-old right back, who is on course to return from an ankle injury for pre-season, has committed his future to the Baggies until June 2014.

Baggies' sporting and technical director Dan Ashworth said: "He's had a good, solid season and has proved he is still more than capable of playing Premier League football."

Reid played 22 games before being hurt during a 1-0 win over Chelsea in March.

"We're delighted to have agreed a new contract with Steven," Ashworth added. "He is also a fantastic person to have around the training ground.

"Steven is valued by the club not just because of what he brings to the football field, but also his contribution off it.

"He has an important role to play as we look to establish ourselves as a top-flight club."

Reid joined the Baggies on a two-month loan from Blackburn two years ago before completing a free transfer to The Hawthorns.

In total, he has made 59 appearances, including 11 as a sub, for the Baggies, scoring four times.
