Defender Byron Anthony has been released by Bristol Rovers along with six other squad members.

Scott McGleish, Charlie Reece, Charlie Clough, Lance Cronin and Michael Boateng have also been let go.

Kayne McLaggon has not been given a new deal but the striker will stay with the club while he recovers from a serious hamstring injury.

Meanwhile, new contracts have been offered to Wayne Brown, Danny Woodards and Jim Paterson.

Anthony, 27, is currently Rovers' longest-serving player, making 191 appearances during six years at the Memorial Stadium.

He spent the last four months of his Pirates tenure on loan at Hereford United.

Former Leyton Orient striker McGleish, 38, also ended the season on loan at Barnet, and leaves Rovers after just a year with the club.
