Gillingham defender Connor Essam has signed a new three-year deal with the League Two club.
The 19-year-old centre-half, who has been at the club for 11 years, will stay at Priestfield until the end of the 2014-15 season.
Essam only made his Gills debut in February after loan spells with non-league sides Dover Athletic, Bishops Stortford and Dartford.
He has since gone on to make 18 appearances for Gillingham.
