Cowdenbeath will unfurl the Second Division flag when Dunfermline visit

The Scottish First Division will kick off season 2012/13 with a Fife derby when Division Two champions Cowdenbeath host Dunfermline on Saturday 11 August.

Dundee, who may yet find themselves in the Scottish Premier League next season if "newco" Rangers are not admitted, are at home to Dumbarton, while Morton welcome Livingston to Greenock.

Steven Pressley will take his young Falkirk side to Firhill to play Partick Thistle.

Raith Rovers face Hamilton Academical.

Dumbarton's match at Dens Park will be their first game in the First Division since May 1996.

Dundee and Scottish Premier League neighbours Dundee United are both due to play at home on 29 December and 9 February.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Football League said: "The clubs have co-ordinated things in the past to get games played on different days and we are sure they will do so again."

In the Second Division, Alloa will unfurl the Third Division league flag prior to their match against East Fife.

Queen of the South and Ayr United, relegated from the First Division last season, both have home games, against Forfar and Stenhousemuir respectively.

Airdrie United take on Arbroath and Albion Rovers travel to Brechin.

The Third Division begins with Berwick Rangers at home to Elgin City and East Stirlingshire welcoming last season's runners-up Queen's Park.

Montrose play Clyde, Stranraer make the long journey north to Peterhead and there is the first ever match between Stirling Albion and Annan Athletic at Forthbank Stadium.
