Ramsdens Cup: Peterhead 1-2 East Fife

East Fife held off a late charge by hosts Peterhead to clinch victory in the first round of the Ramsdens Cup.
Midfielder Scott McBride put his new club ahead with a well-taken 10th minute penalty after Callum MacDonald had brought down Gareth Wardlaw.
The visitors doubled their lead eight minutes into the second half when former St Johnstone striker Colin Samuel headed in Craig Johnstone's inviting cross from 12 yards.
Peterhead pressed in the closing stages of the tie and reduced the arrears in the 75th minute when Rory McAllister rifled home from the left-hand edge of the six-yard box.
