Swansea winger Sinclair wants to extend his contract

Swansea City winger Scott Sinclair wants to extend his contract at the club and is looking forward to working with new boss Michael Laudrup.

Sinclair is in the final year of his three-year deal at the Liberty Stadium.

But the 23-year-old, who is currently on Olympic duty with Team GB, is keen to discuss his future when he returns from London 2012.

"I'm going back and I'm sure I'm going to learn a hell of a lot from the new manager," said Sinclair.

Laudrup replaced former Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers, who left the Liberty Stadium in June to take over at Liverpool.

The winger played for Barcelona, Juventus, Lazio and Real Madrid in a glittering career and also scored 37 international goals for Denmark.

"He was obviously a legend back in his time," added Sinclair, who joined Swansea in 2010.

"The idea was me going away and concentrate on the Olympics, that's basically what I'm going to do now.

"Then when I get back I'll talk to the manager and we'll sit down and discuss it [his contract]."

Sinclair, who scored eight Premier League goals for Swansea last season, helped Team GB to a 1-0 group win over Uruguay on Wednesday.

The victory set up a quarter-final match against South Korea at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday and former Chelsea trainee Sinclair is hopeful of winning an Olympic medal.

"It's an amazing experience," said Sinclair, who has played in two of Team GB's group games and scored in the 3-1 win against the United Arab Emirates at Wembley.

"It's a great honour to be part of Team GB.

"As the days go by and in each training session and each game we've looked stronger and stronger.

"Hopefully we can keep going and try and get a medal."
