A last minute penalty by Chris Scannell secures Cliftonville a 2-1 victory over Glenavon

Chris Scannell slotted home a last-minute penalty to give Cliftonville an opening day victory over Glenavon.

Sean McCashin gave the visitors a 12th minute lead, finishing after Gary Hamilton's free-kick hit the crossbar.

Liam Boyce headed in an equaliser although Glenavon keeper Andy Coleman appeared to be impeded.

Reds midfielder Barry Johnston and Jordan Dane of Glenavon were sent-off for two yellows before Scannell's spot-kick winner after a handball.
