Bournemouth sign Southampton striker Lee Barnard on loan

Bournemouth have signed striker Lee Barnard on loan from Premier League newcomers Southampton until 1 January.

The 28-year-old was a key player in the Saints team that won promotion from League One in 2011, scoring 15 goals in 42 appearances.

Barnard started his career at Tottenham and spent time on loan at Exeter, Crewe, Northampton and Leyton Orient before signing for Southend in 2008.

He joined Southampton in January 2010 but only played nine times last term.
