Ten-man Ballinamallard hang on to beat Glenavon 2-1 at Ferney Park

Ballinamallard United made it four wins in a row with a 2-1 victory over Glenavon which lifts them up to third in the Irish Premiership table.

They scored after just 47 seconds when Ryan Campbell got in on the inside right channel to blast past visiting goalkeeper Andy Coleman.

Jason McCartney made it 2-0 with a close-range goal in the 65th minute.

Leon Carters handled in the box and was sent-off, with Kyle Neill scoring the resulting 89th-minute penalty.

That was the first goal conceded by the Premiership new boys in their last four matches.

"That is 12 points out of 12 now and we are on a good run," said United manager Whitey Anderson.

"There was a good crowd here tonight and there is a real buzz about the place at the moment."
