A stoppage-time winner from Nicky Adams helped Crawley to a dramatic last-gasp victory over his former club Bury.

Crawley had been two goals to the good, after Adams turned home a Mike Jones delivery and Hope Akpan rifled a low drive into the bottom corner.

However, Bury fought back and drew level through headers from both Tom Hopper and Andy Bishop.

But the comeback was in vain as Adams's attempted cross looped over Trevor Carson to secure three points.

Crawley so nearly punished - Barker

"I'm sure it was entertaining, although not particularly great for the fans, but entertaining on a difficult pitch.

"It was a good three points and for 70% of the time, a good performance.

"At this level if you take your foot off the pedal for 30% of the game you're going to get punished, because you're playing against good players every week and that what nearly happened."
