Cliftonville thump Ballinamallard in League Cup

Ballinamallard United's five-game winning run was brought to an end by Cliftonville as the Reds earned a 5-0 win in the League Cup third round.

Joe Gormley hit a hat-trick including a 20th-minute penalty after Mark Stafford had been sent-off for handball.

Stephen Garrett, Liam Boyce and Gormley (two) added the further Reds goals.

Gary Liggett hit four goals as Lisburn Distillery beat Coagh 9-0 with Jordan Hughes, Michael Halliday (two), Scott Davison and Owain Beggs also scoring.

Holders Crusaders fought back from 2-0 down to beat Carrick Rangers 4-3 at Dixon Park with David Gibson notching a 89th-minute winner for the North Belfast club.

Sencer Yilmaz put Carrick ahead on 10 minutes and Corey Davidson doubled Rangers' lead three minutes later.

However, Gary McCutcheon pulled a goal back for the Crues on 41 and they were back on terms in first-half injury-time as Paul Heatley netted.

Yilmaz restored Carrick's lead on 70 but Timmy Adamson levelled again on 77 before Gibson's last-gasp winner.

Glenavon needed a 94th-minute penalty from Matty Burrows to see off Dergview 2-1 at Mourneview Park.

Duwayne McManus put Dergview ahead on 28 minutes before Andy Kilmartin levelled on 49.

Burrows slammed home the injury-time penalty after Liam McMenamin was adjudged to have brought down Guy Bates.

Portadown earned a comfortable 4-0 win at Bangor with all the goals coming in the opening 20 minutes.

Ryan Burns notched two goals after Sean Mackle had put the Ports ahead and Darren Murray hammered in the fourth.

Two Alan Teggart second-half penalties helped Ballymena United defeat H&W Welders 3-1 with Tony Kane adding the Braidmen's third goal on 86 minutes before Mark Wilkinson's injury-time reply.
