Brentford 2-2 Hartlepool
- Published
Brentford striker Paul Hayes scored his first two goals for the club but two own goals handed managerless Hartlepool a point.
The home side took the lead early on when Hayes fired home from close range.
Pools were level when defender Harlee Dean deflected a cross into his own net, but Hayes headed the Bees back in front just before the hour mark.
Tony Craig looped a header past keeper Simon Moore in the dying moments to hand the visitors a draw.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Brentford manager Uwe Rosler told BBC London 94.9:
"It was not one of our best performances. We were the better team in the first half with clear-cut chances.
"Leon Legge was very good. They didn't have too many chances in the second half.
"We got control and we got the second goal, but with two minutes to go we have to play into the corners.
"Instead we tried to play the football when we're chasing a result, not when we're defending a result."
