Irish Premiership: Crusaders 5-1 Glenavon
- Published
Timmy Adamson bagged a double as Crusaders hammered Glenavon at Seaview to move third in the Premiership.
The striker tapped in a 13th minute opener and Gary McCutcheon's backpost finish doubled the lead before Adamson slotted in the third.
Jordan Owens headed in from McCutcheon's cross just before the break and Paul Heatley slid in to make it 5-0 after 57 minutes.
Andy McCrory's superb 35-yard strike gave Glenavon a late consolation.
Crusaders had the points secured by half-time against a disappointing Glenavon side sitting third from bottom in the standings.
However, the visitors could have been ahead in the opening 10 minutes with James Singleton squandering two good chances.
The Crues could have been further ahead at the break as midfielder Declan Caddell was denied by the woodwork while Owens headed off the crossbar in the second half.
Glenavon at least scored the best goal of the game with McGrory's brilliant long-range effort dipping into the corner of the net.
Crusaders are level on points with Coleraine but occupy third place thanks to a superior goal difference.
