Carlisle have bolstered their squad by signing defender Sean McGinty on a month's loan from Manchester United.
The 19-year-old was at Oxford earlier this season but returned to Old Trafford early after failing to force his way into their league side.
"I've been able to have Sean watched and he has a great physical presence with his size and the way he plays the game," said Carlisle boss Greg Abbott.
McGinty went straight into the squad for Tuesday's game against Preston.
"He's at one of the best clubs in the country and this is a chance for him to come here and work in and around our first-team squad.
"It's a good opportunity for him to show us what he can do," Abbott told the club's website., external
McGinty, who has played for the Republic of Ireland at youth level, realised a childhood dream when he joined United in 2009., external
He can play either right-back or in central defence but has yet to make his first-team debut at Old Trafford and played four games on loan at Morecambe last season.
