Crusaders ease to a 5-2 victory over Donegal Celtic at Suffolk Road

Timmy Adamson scored a hat-trick as Crusaders moved to within four points of league leaders Cliftonville with a convincing win over Donegal Celtic, who are now bottom on goal difference.

Paul Heatley fired in the opener on 13 minutes but Sean Cleary levelled with a 25-yard piledriver in the 43rd minute.

Striker Adamson headed in on 56 and met Gareth McKeown's crosses with further headed goals after 73 and 78 minutes.

McKeown netted a 30-yard shot on 58, while Peter McCann scored after 87.

Heatley finished in style for the first goal of the match after being put through by Gary McCutcheon, and the midfielder had another 'goal' chalked off.

Cleary unleashed a spectacular drive two minutes before the interval, but Adamson met a Heatley free-kick with a header at the back post to make it 2-1.

McKeown and Adamson combined to extend the Crues' advantage and McCann's late strike was little consolation for Pat McAllister's side.
