QPR can stay in Premier League - Harry Redknapp

Harry Redknapp insisted his QPR side could still beat relegation, despite a comprehensive 3-0 defeat by Liverpool.

QPR are bottom of the Premier League and, with just one top-flight win this season, are eight points from safety following the loss to the Reds.

"I still believe we will get out of trouble," said manager Redknapp.

"You mustn't give up. You've got to keep going and if we can get one or two [new signings] in then it might make the difference."

Redknapp, who took charge at Loftus Road in November following the dismissal of Mark Hughes, added: "If we can find the right people as well as getting Bobby Zamora fit, which would be a big bonus for us, I think we can get out of trouble."

QPR face a trip to third-placed Chelsea and Redknapp's former club Tottenham, who are fourth, in their next two league games.

But Redknapp continued: "It's going to be hard but I really believe we will do it. There's plenty of game left. It is not impossible.

"We have to believe we can go on a run of winning games. I'm still upbeat, I'm not down about it. I still believe we can do it.

"Chelsea and Tottenham are flying and they are our next two games but you never know in football.

"You can't give up. I only want upbeat people around me.

"As I said to the players, 'don't come here moping around me'. I don't want to see substitutes moping because they are not playing.

"If they were that good they would be playing and wouldn't be bottom of the league. Get on with it. Let's see some fight and stick together. Let's see the attitude being right.

"If we all do that there's no reason why we can't go on a run. There are some teams down there in trouble and eight points is not insurmountable."

Two Luis Suarez goals and a Daniel Agger header - all in the first half - consigned QPR to their 12th defeat in 20 league games at Loftus Road on Sunday.

"It was a disappointing opening half hour," said Redknapp. "I felt we improved in the second half an awful lot.

"It was damage limitation at half-time. You have to make sure you are not beaten by seven or eight that's the situation I was faced with at half-time.

"We didn't concede anymore goals [in the second half] and that was important."
